WATT SOLAR launches new production, doubling capacity


Dresden, 13 September 2010, the WATT SOLAR AG, Dresden, was today presented a new production line for solar modules and a new logistics center in operation. In an opening ceremony started Dr. Frank Schneider, CEO of SOLARWATT, together with Prime Minister of Saxony Stanislaw Tillich, the newly built production line.

Doubling of capacity - 140 new jobs

"With the construction of the world's most advanced modular production, which will now begin production, stands SOLARWATT the challenges of the coming years," said Dr. Frank Schneider. The company is expanding its capacity from 200 MWp to 400 MWp and has up to it again in the Saxon capital invested € 35 million This investment creates 140 new jobs WATT SOLAR.

Every 28 seconds a new solar module

Modern logistics has solar plant with capacity of 260 kWp

Dresdner has also taken over the solar panel manufacturer to be newly built logistics center. To 13,000 square meters, has two floors of the building over 2,600 pallet spaces on which future dispatch solar panels are stored. The building will also include over five docking stations, a loading ramp and three lifts.

On the roof and on the facade of the logistics center are two solar systems. A total of 1350 modules with a total capacity of 260 kWp generating solar power that is fed into the grid. Part of the solar system is used by the research department of the WATT SOLAR AG as a test field.
